They Do Things Differently There

For this exhibition, we aim to investigate the disruption and re-evaluation of linear histories. In examining the remnants of time, an eternal present emerges, a collective cultural memory appears, and chronological time becomes replaced with a mnemic delineation of time.As a group of curators, we intend to exhibit artworks and artifacts that question personal and shared identity, the perception and re-evaluation of the past, the collecting and remembrance of accumulated relics, and the unconventional approaches used to represent the disintegration of temporality.
We have organized a series of events (check events page for updates), which engage us as curators as well as a public audience including students, lecturers, and art professionals, in the weeks leading up to the opening. A publication is in the process of being produced which will accompany the exhibition and include information about the artists and the works being showcased.

The dates for the exhibition are as follows:
Preview; Friday 4th June, 2010 6-8pm, followed by an After Party at the Roxy Art House, entertainment provided by Doctor Gramophone (http://www.doctorgramophone.co.uk/ )
Exhibition; Saturday 5th June – Saturday 19th June, 2010
